An isopod as micropredator of the angelshark in the Canary Islands

The marine isopod Aegapheles deshaysiana was observed while preying on the angelshark (Squatina squatina) in the Canary Islands.

These are the first observations from this micropredator in its natural environment, while taking blood meals from its host and in depths less than 50m.
